Descriptions: A California Victim reports that he was approached online by a person claiming to be Benito Revilla about a crypto investment. In fact, it was a scam, and the website the scammer used, https://benitorevilla.com., is impersonating a legitimate broker-dealer agent in Texas, employed by USAA Investment Services. Working with USAA Investment Services, DFPI has posted a Consumer Alert about this imposter (https://dfpi.ca.gov/2023/01/20/website-https-benitorevilla-com-is-fraudulently-posing-as-a-california-licensed-investment-adviser/) and urges consumers to exercise extreme caution before responding to any solicitation offering investment or financial services.
